High-performance acoustic booths in a glass factory
Workspaces protected from noise, vibrations and extreme temperatures alongside production furnaces.
The challenge
In a glass manufacturing environment, characterised by high noise levels, vibrations and severe thermal conditions associated with furnaces and production lines, the design, manufacture, transport and installation of two acoustic booths was required to house auxiliary equipment and control systems linked to a new production furnace.
These booths needed to function as permanent workspaces where operators continuously monitor furnace operation, control production parameters and manage process alarms and incidents. The project was therefore approached from an integral perspective, combining acoustic insulation, thermal comfort, structural safety and regulatory compliance.
The solution
The design ensured high insulation through double damped acoustic panel systems, ensuring interior sound levels compatible with occupational health and safety regulations. Each booth incorporated independent climate control, adequate technical lighting and special glazing with acoustic and thermal control.
Given the highly demanding industrial environment, the booths were built on floating floors, achieving effective decoupling from vibrations generated by adjacent production lines. The structural solution was dimensioned to guarantee mechanical resistance, stability and durability under severe conditions.
The entire assembly was designed and built in strict compliance with current regulations on structural safety, fire protection, occupational health and safety, and low-voltage electrical installations.
The result
SNA demonstrated its capability to work in glass factories and high-power industrial processes, developing bespoke acoustic and structural solutions that protect workers without compromising production process operability. The booths provide a safe, comfortable and fully operational working environment under extreme industrial conditions.
